Some of them below 200$ and trust me, they rugged enough for your needs.

Also, you can check out the old and used part of Ebay to buy old Racing/aviation headsets. If you manage to find some from the 70's or 80's , when cable coating was made to withstand severe punishment, you could refurbish them to your current needs.
If you also feel your headset wiring is weak, do as some of my old venezuelan dj's friends did, since Venezuela has crap dollar and import regulations, you usually buy imported stuff and try to keep it alive as long as possible, try to buy a solid headphone, then COAT the wiring in Sleeves . This will avoid them breaking to them constantly coiling themselves. Some guys I knew instead of sleeves, since they were poor, coated them in black isolating tape, which was cheaper and easier to get than sleeves.
Those headphones/headsets were practically waterproof .
As a sidenote, I built a set of specific headphones (the extra mike to make it a headset is easily modded) using spare parts from an old electronics store.
Ideally, since a lot of the small speakers in the headphones are usually the same within a certain price range, the only thing that would make them better was how well you managed to place the isolating foamy ring that covers your ear. Custom making those was relatively easy, since the foam was ez to get and the fake leather coat over it is ez to get as well in most stores dedicated to textiles.
I could even custom make them for you If I was back in Venezuela, as the culture there is predominatly of maintenance instead of renewal since it's almost impossible to import things to the average person, so you need to make stuff last way longer than their regular lifetime expectancy.
Even the spare parts from your previous headsets could make it able for you to create a new completely customized set for your head proportions. It's not rocket science, just good handwork, soldiering work, glue and silicone useage and a simple understanding of how the 1/8 mike needs to be coated, and recognizing good quality 1/8 jacks. Friend of mine used to coat his with a small silver lining, since silver is ez to melt from cheap jewelry, but he had a nice small working setup as he was a jeweller. He once custom made an awesome wiring set of silver threads (excellent conductor for small things, like headphones) for a very delicate pair of small headphones. Since he was unable to replicate the 1/8 jack he just coated it in silver too. A gift to one of his daughters. They worked perfectly, and I helped him assemble the small headspeakers. Our only problem was soldiering the silver threads to the headphones. We had to clear the material several times and it was a bit of pain. Was fun tho. good times
